Bellam Dry Fruit Putharekulu is Atreyapuram's iconic paper sweet at its most generous — gossamer rice sheets layered with pure cow ghee, dark Andhra jaggery, and a careful scatter of crushed dry fruits. Each pack of 10 carries the labour of hours: sheets so thin you can almost see through them, folded around a filling rich enough to feel like an occasion all by itself.
Atreyapuram's GI-Tag Paper Sweet
Putharekulu is a recognised Geographical Indication sweet from Atreyapuram in East Godavari, where the unique humid air helps the rice batter set into edible sheets. The technique — hand-rolling the batter onto an inverted hot pan and lifting it as paper — exists almost nowhere else. Our putharekulu are made in this same Godavari tradition, kept faithful by four generations of family practice.
Jaggery, Ghee, And Real Dry Fruits
We layer each sheet with pure cow ghee, powdered Andhra jaggery, and a hand-crushed mix of cashews, almonds, and pistachios. No artificial colour, no preservatives, no maida. The jaggery gives the sweet its deep, mineral caramel character, while the dry fruits add bite and aroma to every wafer-thin bite.
