Natukodi Pickle
Free-range country chicken in a robust home masala. Sun-cured the old-fashioned way, slow-tempered in cold-pressed sesame oil, and bottled by hand in our village kitchen. Best enjoyed with hot rice and a generous spoon of ghee.
Authentic Natukodi Pickle
Natukodi Pickle is the proud village cousin of regular chicken pickle — free-range country chicken slow-cooked in a robust home masala that tastes the way Andhra grandmothers remember. Made in Tanuku by our 4-generation family using hand-pounded spices and cold-pressed sesame oil, our Natukodi Pickle is leaner, gamier and far more flavour-dense — a jar that respects the bird.
What makes our Natukodi Pickle different
Natukodi is firmer and more flavourful than broiler chicken, so it stands up to slow cooking and long-bloomed masala beautifully. We hand-pound the spices on a stone grinder, bloom them in cold-pressed gingelly oil, and fold in bone-in country chicken so the marrow deepens the masala. Garlic, ginger, Andhra chilli and black pepper drive the Natukodi Pickle's robust flavour.
Flavour profile & experience
Expect a deeper, more rustic chicken flavour than usual — leaner meat, firmer bite, and a gamier savouriness that village kitchens swear by. Andhra chilli brings the heat, black pepper a slow warmth, and tamarind a quiet sour lift. The sesame oil finishes long and nutty, and each spoon of Natukodi Pickle eats like a memory of a courtyard lunch.
How to enjoy Natukodi Pickle
A spoon of Natukodi Pickle over hot rice with ghee is the Andhra village classic. Pair with ragi sangati for a deeply traditional plate, fold into biryani, or eat with curd rice and a wedge of raw onion. It also lifts roti rolls and dosa wraps into a serious meal.
